The Tri-Valley Republican Women Federated will host a dinner with featured speaker Lori Drake, a certified computer expert who will present “In the Shadow of the Facebook Effect.” Lori is a leader in multiple Republican organizations, including serving as Chairwoman of the 16th Assembly District Caucus (Tri-Valley). She will discuss the evolving partnership between Big Data and Big Government that raises questions about surveillance in the digital age via Google, Facebook, and other Internet giants, as well as the contributions of Facebook and other Internet phenomena to the diminishing ability of our youth to verbally communicate and participate in our country’s civic, political, and economic institutions.
