Johnny Khamis Requests Support on SJ Tax Issue
The San Jose City Council has indicated support for a sales tax ballot measure. San Jose Council Member Johnny Khamis says it should not be a General Tax, which can be spent on almost anything and reallocated by a future council, but alternatively a Special Tax, designated for police and road repair, where funds are sorely needed. He encourages citizens to respectfully speak for this option at the City Council meeting.
This discussion is the main item on the March 8 agenda at 1:30 PM. Parking is available beneath City Hall; take the orange elevator to the 2nd floor, and the Council Chambers will be around to the left as you exit. Parking validation and yellow speaker/comment cards to fill out are available at the rear of the Council Chambers. The tax issue is item 3.3 on the Council Agenda.
