California Congress of Republicans Endorses Steve Hilton’s Golden Ticket

Romero, Gates, Morgan, Wagner, Korsgaden, Shaw Endorsed For Statewide Office

The California Congress of Republicans endorsed Steve Hilton for Governor at its recent convention. Hilton received 76% of the vote from participating delegates.  A 2/3 majority is required for an endorsement. As a part of Hilton’s campaign, he has helped recruit candidates for several statewide offices.  His Golden Ticket includes candidates Gloria Romero, Michael Gates, and Herb Morgan.

Former California Senate Majority Leader Gloria Romero was endorsed for Lt. Governor with 86% of the vote.  At the candidate forum, immediately preceding the vote, Romero discussed her dissatisfaction with the Democrat Party that caused her to leave and become a Republican.

Michael Gates was unanimously endorsed for Attorney General.  Gates previously served as City Attorney in Huntington Beach where he led the legal effort to challenge Governor Newsom’s mandates on California cities during COVID-19.

Orange County Supervisor Don Wagner received the unanimous endorsement for California Secretary of State.  Wagner previously served in the California State Assembly representing Orange County.  He is campaigning on a pledge to make California elections “secure, efficient, accurate and accessible.”

Herb Morgan, candidate for California State Controller promises “radical transparency” into California’s finances.  Morgan’s campaign has set an example by publishing every campaign contribution real-time online at HerbMorganOnChain.com. Morgan was unanimously endorsed by CCR.

Stacy Korsgaden was endorsed for California Insurance Commissioner with 82% of the vote.  As a small business owner and insurance industry expert, Korsgaden has the knowledge and experience necessary to solve the crisis brought on by wildfires and the steady reduction of new insurance policies being offered to California homeowners.

CCR endorsed Sonja Shaw for Superintendent of Public Instruction with 67% of the vote.  A soccer mom who became a fierce parental rights advocate, Shaw was elected President of the Chino Valley Unified School Board in 2022.

In the race for California State Treasurer, CCR members heard from homebuilder David Serpa and CFRW leader Jennifer Hawks.  However, delegate votes split almost evenly and no candidate received the required 2/3 majority.

California Congress of Republicans also endorsed candidates for a number of Congressional and State Legislative districts around the state.  You can check out those endorsements on the Endorsements page of the CCR website.
