  • Independent Institute Gala for the Future of Liberty

    The Independent Institute will celebrate their 30th Anniversary with a Gala for the Future of Liberty, including presentation of the Alexis de Tocqueville Awards. Honorees will include tech-entrepreneur Timothy C. Draper; Nobel Laureate economist Vernon L. Smith; North Korean refugee, defector, and human-rights activist Yeon-mi Park. P.J. O’Rourke, bestselling author and political humorist, will be the master of ceremonies.

    The Pacific Research Institute invites you to join them for an evening reception with entrepreneur, investor, author and philanthropist Peter Thiel. His distinguished career has included founding PayPal in 1998, investing in Facebook in 2004 and serving on the Board, and currently serving as a partner at Founders Fund, a San Francisco venture capital firm. Thiel will deliver the keynote address and will receive the PRI’s 2017 Sir Antony Fisher Freedom Award.
