A press conference will be held in San Jose to kick off the process. Participants will include Benson Yeung, Vice Chair of the Santa Clara Republican Party, and representatives of other organizations. Read more.
Other states now embrace the citizens model created by a vote of the people in 2008. The Commission will be made up of 14 members and is tasked with redrawing the district lines for California’s Congressional districts as well as for the State Senate, the Assembly, as well as the Board of Equalization.

Monday, July 15, 2019National Review Institute is seeking applicants for its Fall 2019 Regional Fellowship Program in San Francisco. The ideal applicant for the program will be a mid-career professional (ages 35-50), with an interest in developing a deeper understanding of the foundations of conservative thought.. Past participants have represented diverse industries and professions ranging from oil and gas, finance, real estate, medicine, sporting industries, law enforcement, and tech, to education, nonprofits, and the arts.
The program takes place over eight moderated dinner discussions; the 2019 class will run from September to November. Moderators include popular NR writers and leading academics at local universities. The 2020 Commission will include five Democrats, five Republicans, and four who are either registered without, or “independent” of, any political party (decline-to-state or no party preference) or with another party. The Commission is responsible for drawing the lines of each district following the upcoming Census.

For a crucial period, Henry Crumpton led the CIA’s global covert operations against America’s terrorist enemies, including al Qaeda. In the days after 9/11, the CIA tasked Crumpton to organize and lead the Afghanistan campaign. According to “Goodreads,” this book will change the way America views the CIA.
